Does PowerTools work with (MetaCard / Windows / OSX / linux)?
Yes/Yes/Yes/Yes
How is PowerTools licensed?
PowerTools won't run without a valid license. When you first install PowerTools and launch RunRev or MetaCard the About Box and licensing screen will pop up. You can't do anything else with PowerTools until you enter your first and last names and your license code.
The license code you purchase never expires. You can install the license on any computer or multiple computers you own. A one-year PowerTools license costs $30 USD. You can continue to use PowerTools forever, but once your license expires you can't receive updated versions until you renew the license. License renewals are priced at $5.
Are there any controls not in the runrev IDE toolbar?
There are a few extras (a ledger field, OK and cancel buttons). And there are widgets.
Can I create my own widgets?
That's the real reason we created PowerTools in the first place. If you follow the steps it's not too hard. You can also take existing groups and make them into widgets if they're self-contained. See the documentation.
What's with the graphics and paint tools?
Each graphic and paint tool keeps track of its own properties. The oval tool can have one foreground color and the round rectangle tool can have another. These are saved for the next time you use the tool. You can also assign fill patterns and gradients to graphic tools so that you can paint with a background fill pattern or gradient instead of having to apply it after the fact.
This allows you to do some things that can't be done with runrev without PowerTools: you can apply a fill pattern to the spray can tool and paint the pattern in a spray effect, you can apply a pattern to the bucket tool and fill an area with a background pattern, etc.
Does PowerTools work with glx2?
PowerTools was designed from the start to work with glx2. If you have both in your user plugins folder then PowerTools will pick up and use your glx2 motif (Chalkboard or Alabaster).
